From August 7th to 10th, 2008 French town Saulieu (Burgundy) will welcome lovers of Cajun and Zydeco musics with great times of music, dance, cinema and gastronomy. The Saulieu Cajun and Zydeco Music, Film and Food Festival is a precious European event for this is the only one of the kind.

Two symbolic American bands from Louisiana will perform during these 15th Cajun and Zydeco Nights:

  Leon Chavis & The Zydeco Flames

Great European bands will also perform :

  River Zydeco Band (Netherlands)
  Zigazag and Z-Funk (UK)
  Eric Martin & Cajun Ramblers (France)
  Grand Prairie Special (France)
  4 Jeun’s et Blue Bayou (France)

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon, there will be free balls and a dance workshop on Saturday focused on Zydeco. Cajun instruments workshops will take place too: accordion, violin and guitar.

As for gastronomy, famous Lafayette (USA) chef Michael Richard will be there again. Festival-goers will be lucky once again to taste his Cajun and Creole dishes...

2008 will host the 8th Nuit du Film de Louisiane (Night of Louisiana Cinema) and will air films on southern Louisiana music, culture and history.

And on Monday 11 August, party animals will be able to go on dancing on the sound of Z-Funk and Zigazag in a restaurant near Saulieu.
