The Francophonie Village will take place alongside the Tenth Francophonie Meetings in Uagadugu.
From November 22 to 28, 2004, the Francophonie Village located on an area of the International Fair of Craft Industry in Uagadugu (9000 m² exhibiting area) will welcome thousands of French-speaking visitors interested in the establishment and develoment of democracy, conflicts prevention, the support in a legally constituted state and human rights, the improvement of the dialogue between cultures and civilizations, the gathering of people by their mutual knowledge, the increasing of their solidarity through actions of mutual collaboration to help the development of their economies.
Among the offered activities, a large podium inside the Village will feature traditional and modern artists, storytellers, humorists coming from different countries of the francophone area.

Performance of the Tahiti ballets
Performance of a Vietnamese artistic company
Two kinds of events are planned in Uagadugu:
Outdoors animations (podiums + moving percussions). Different performances (concerts, dance, storyteling, theatre) will take place in popular places (crossroads, roundabouts, public places). In addition percussion bands will parade in Uagadugu major streets.
The Francophonie in cultural places. For a specific public, different
performances (concerts, theatre, choreographies, cinema) will take place
in various places: CENASA, CCF, Espace Culturel Gambidi (ECG), Atelier
Théâtre Burkinabe (ATB), etc.
