The International Organization of la Francophonie in
New York invite you to discover the cultural diversity of the Francophone world during the month-long celebration
of «Francophonie New York 2005». The
festival is a way to highlight the importance of
Francophone cultural contributions to New York’s
already colorful and vibrant energy. New York is
a city made up of communities that share and
participate in the common humanitarian and
democratic values that represent those of the
countries that belong to the Francophonie.
For this first-ever, large-scale celebration of Francophonie in New York City, we
have chosen the title «Around the French-Speaking World».
With this festival,
we urge you to take notice of these communities and to celebrate them as part
of a larger community, that of the Francophonie. I encourage you to share the
spirit of cooperation and community and to attend one or more of the many concerts,
films and events that will take place during the month of March.
