The deadline for the registration to the 40e Gala de la Chanson de Caraquet 2008 in Canada (40th Caraquet’s Song Gala 2008) has been postponed to Friday 11 April 2008. All applications must be submitted to the office of the Acadian Festival of Caraquet by 4 pm on April 11th.

You can download the registration forms on the website of the Gala de la Chanson (link below). You must be a French speaking citizen from the Atlantic provinces (or must have been living there for the last two 2 years) and be 18 years old at least to apply. You can apply to the following categories: singer, writer-composer-singer and writer-composer.

The finalists will have the opportunity to win up to $8,000 prizes and attend great work sessions. The winners of the writer-composer-singer and singer prizes will be selected for the semi-final of the Festival International de la Chanson de Granby (Song International Festival of Granby) in September 2008. And one of them will perform at ChantEauFete 2009 in Charlevoix, Quebec. More interesting awards will be granted to the finalists.
