The Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ, French Quebec Youth Office) has set up a Canadian tour which will take place from July 14th to 22nd, 2008 during the Quebec’s 400th anniversary celebrations.
The 2006 tour featured the 4 French artists Nicolas Jules, Emily Loizeau, Ben Ricour and Cyrz. It was very successful and naturally entailed one more tour in 2007. Yet the 2007 tour was more francophone than French only and featured French talents Agnes Bihl and Benoit Doremus and Haitian singer Belo who had won the RFI (Radio France International) Discovery Award.
This 3rd tour of “new French talents” on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Quebec and the OFQJ’s 40th anniversary welcomes the 3 French song discoveries Jeanne Cherhal, Ours and Katel. They will all perform live 5 times. Jeanne Cherhal, Ours and Katel (Charles Souchon and Nicolas Voulzy) will be backed up by the Canadian sound engineer Louis-Simon Hetu and an OFQJ coordinator.
