European Dream Festival - September 20 - October 31
Twenty-three prime New York cultural venues, such as theaters, cinemas, music clubs, universities and libraries have become partners of the festival and will present new European productions in dance, theater, music, film, literature, and bold new forms of cross-disciplines, including several U.S. premieres.

Lambic - Friday, September 15- 7pm
Barbès - 379 9th Street (6th Ave.), Park Slope Brooklyn
Lambic is a unique style of Belgian ale that is spontaneously fermented from wild yeasts present in the air in the Senne valley. Lambic is also a band featuring Paul Sullivan (Paul Sullivan group) on guitars and effects, and Stephen Moses (alice donut) on drums, trombone, and effets.

Richard Bona - Tiki CD Release - Wednesday September 6 - 7pm
Joe’s Pub 425 Lafayette St
Dubbed «The African Sting», Richard Bona expands his wings and soars with his fourth solo album and Decca debut Tiki - showing he is a true “triple threat” in the music world. The bassist-vocalist-composer maintains his universal appeal by combining African influences with Latin rhythms, jazz, bossa nova, pop and funk.

Ana Miura - Friday, September 29 - 7:30pm
Caffe Vivaldi - 32 Jones St (off Bleecker St, near Seventh Ave)
Recently voted Ottawa`s Best Singer-Songwriter by Ottawa Xpress, Ana Miura, whose folky songs incorporate elements of jazz, pop, and rock, returns to New York`s Caffe Vivaldi this September. Her debut EP, Tenacious Heart, is currently available.

Amy Cervini Quartet - Tuesday, September 5 - 8:30pm - 11:30pm
Night and Day - 230 5th Avenue (at President Street) - Park Slope, Brooklynbr> Canadian jazz singer Amy Cervini brings her quartet into Brooklyn’s Night and Day the first Tuesday of every month to lead a jam session (and to perform!). This evening of memorable music led by Cervini.

ADominic Kanza & The African Rythm Machine - Tuesday September 5 & 19 - 8pm
MoBay 17 West 125th St, Harlem
Dominic Kanza and his band, the African Rhythm Machine, have provided some of the best Congolese rumba music in the New York region. The spicy, joyous music of Dominic Kanza and the African Rhythm Machine is guaranteed to leave audiences in a good mood.

Natacha Atlas- Arab Roots to World Sounds - September 15 - 8pm
Symphony Space, 95 & Broadway
Based in the UK, Middle Eastern diva Natacha Atlas has built a reputation for combining the ancient tradition of Arab maqam with classical Western music and contemporary sounds, including jazz, reggae, and rap.

Les Yeux Noirs - September 28 - 8pm
Symphony Space, Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, 95 & Broadway
Les Yeux Noirs, French for “The Black Eyes”, take their name from the title of a Russian gypsy tune made famous by Django Reinhardt in the 1930’s, and is the perfect fit for their unique blend of gypsy and Yiddish music, topped off with a dash of Manouche jazz.

The Mandingo Ambassadors - Friday, September 15 - 9pm
Barbès - 379 9th Street (6th Ave.), Park Slope Brooklyn
(Formerly known as Les Ambassadeurs du Mandingue) This legendary band was originally formed in Guinea, West Africa, in the late 1960’s by Guitarist Mamady “Djelike” Kouyate and singer Emile Soumah.

Buyu Ambroise - "Blues in Red" - Saturday, September 2 - 9pm & 11 pm ($10)
Solomon’s Proch, 307 Stuyvesant Ave ( Halsey St), Brooklyn
Combining soulful blues with traditional Haitian music, saxophonist Alix “Buyu” Ambroise creates a session filled with heartfelt spirit and founded on lively Latin rhythms. The program moves smoothly through lyrical melodies and mournful airs.

Boukman Eksperyans - Friday September 29
SOB’s, 204 Varick St. @ Houston St
Boukman Eksperyans, Haiti’s most well known Voodoo Rock band is founded by Lolo Beaubrun and his wife Mimerose. Lolo lived in USA and returned to Haiti in 1978 and there were bands known as Minidjaz as part of the first roots music movement, but they seemed to pay no attention to songlyrics that dealt with reality.

Azouhouni & Afroyorkers - Tuesdays, September 12 & 26 - 8pm
MoBay 17 West 125th St, Harlem
Born in the Ivory Coast (West Africa), Azouhouni Adou began his musical career early on accompanying some of most the well-known and respected Ivorian artists, such as Ernesto Djedje and Alpha Blondy.

Coumba Sidibe with Banning Eyre & Abdoulaye Alhassane - September 16 - 8:30pm
Barbès - 379 9th Street (6th Ave.), Park Slope Brooklyn
Coumba Sidibe is a legend, a pioneer of the bluesy Malian music called Wassoulou. Her deep, raspy voice delivers mystic songs full of entrancing grooves. In this rare performance, she will let it shine acoustic, backed by a Malian percussionist and two guitarists.

Carole Alexis "Osmoses" - September 16 - 8:30pm
Ashford ans Simpson Sugar Bar, 254 West 72nd St (bet Broadway & West End ave)
This unique conceptual spectacle creates an OSMOSES of cultures, rhythms, movements, languages, which combine and fuse sophisticated movements interpreted by performing artists which takes the music and the choreography in a much different direction.
