Every year, people are anxiously waiting to hear who the featured artists will be for Vancouver’s Festival d’été francophone performance on the outdoor stage on 7th Avenue, which will be held this year on Saturday, June 14.
On Thursday, 20 March 2008, they will be announced at the Vancouver Playhouse (Canada) during the intermission of the closing performance of the BC 5 x 5.
The 5x5 project brings together on one stage a host of BC artists: Josée Allard, Marie-France Lapierre, St-Pierre, Samuel Sixto and Les Wintermitts. The performance at the Vancouver Playhouse will be their final show in this unique initiative brought by the Vancouver Centre culturel francophone and co-produced by the 2008 Cultural Olympiad. After the intermission, the famous Québécois group Les Trois Accords will take the stage!
Another important reminder: on the same day, the main features of the Francodôme project will be announced in Quebec, as part of the 400th anniversary celebrations of Québec City, which will be presented at the Vancouver Festival d’été francophone from the 12th to the 15th June 2008.
Two major events you won’t want to miss on Vancouver’s francophone cultural agenda!
