Henri Salvador, son of Guadeloupe natives (French West Indies), born in French Guyana, has not forgotten that he started in the French Riviera cabarets with his brother André in 1941. There he met Ray Ventura who brought him for a South-American tour.
Back in France, Henri Salvador wrote his first successful songs : «Maladie d’amour» in 1947, «Une chanson douce» in 1950, «Syracuse» in 1962. After a long time of «funny» songs written with amongst others, Boris Vian, Monsieur Henri came back now to his first love : the Brasilian Jazz. Much to everyone’s delight.
