This coming November, at the 11th annual Coup de cœur francophone, the Centre will host young talent from around the Francophone world in the spirit of diversity and discovery. A delightful surprise is in store for you when you come out to show your appreciation for the wealth of talent of these gems of Francophone music!

« PARTIS POUR LA GLOIRE » : Damien Robitaille, Philémon and Anaïs

Damien Robitaille After receiving accolades at the Gala des Prix Trille Or and at the Granby Festival international de la chanson, Damien Robitaille has just recently been proclaimed the grand prize winner of the 2004-2005 Francouvertes competition. Just 23 years of age, Damien Robitaille takes the stage alone with his guitar, to bring you electrifying songs, with bold lyrics that touch on very relevant issues!

Philémon Winner of the 2005 Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée in Quebec and of the 2003 Cégep en spectacle, Philémon shakes up his audience with his youthful energy and corrosive rock sound. Without holding anything back and with no pretences, this 22 year-old Québécois artist takes you into his private space with the astonishing poetry of his music!

Anaïs The latest darling of the music scene in France! She has just made a hit at the most prestigious Francophone music festival in the world, the Printemps de Bourges in France, where she carried off the prizes « Attention talent scène »(for stage presence) and « Attention talent disque » (for recordings). Armed with her guitar and her sharp wit, this young artist from Provence will charm you with her clear, well modulated voice and delight you with the full cast of characters she portrays and their stories. AD MARE (British Columbia): opera music for young children!

For the first time in eleven years, the Centre will include in its program a show that is strictly reserved for the very young audience up to the age of five... along with their parents! Ad Mare is a British Columbian wind quintet that will present operatic airs to small children, featuring woodwind instruments. Anne-Katherine Coop has arranged a medley of operatic selections, including airs from Carmen and Tosca and The Magic Flute.

Having charmed audiences and critics alike, Vincent Vallières was awarded the prestigious 2005 Félix-Leclerc prize for music on July 27 this year. A competitor at the last ADISQ Gala in the Pop-Rock Recording of the Year category, this 26 year-old musician from Sherbrook will shuttle his audience between rock, folk, ballads and country music. Pupils in the Francophone school system are sure to be smitten by this young and promising artist! Presented with the support of the Francophone Education Authority

MAALESH (Comoros) Mwezi (The Moon) show November 26, 8 pm

Maalesh and his four musicians hail from the archipelago of the Comores. Their music resonates with a blend of African, Asian and Arab influences. With a perfect mix of voice, electric-acoustic guitars and percussion, Maalesh stole the show at the 1995 MASA festival (African Market of the Performing Arts) and was the winner of the "Découverte RFI Afrique" prize the same year. The group went on to win the 2001 Grand Prix International at the Festival Visa Francophone in Villefranche de Rouergue in France. Hope to see you all there!
