2009 Festival en Chanson of Petite-Vallée: the program

Festival en Chanson of Petite-Vallée has unveiled the selection of artists who participate in its 27th edition. The festival runs from 26 June to 4 July 2009 in Petite-Vallée (Quebec - Canada).

For this 27th edition of Festival en Chanson of Petite-Vallée, the jury considered the application of 326 candidates. Of these, only twelve artists were selected.

Singers selected are:

-  Bernard Adamus (Montreal from Ponland)
-  Stéphane Robitaille (Quebec)
-  Duo Rock/Messier with Kathia Rock (Malioténam) and Jean-Frédéric Messier (Montreal)
-  Hugues Savard (Alma)
-  Isabelle Dupont (Montreal)
-  Julie Valois (Montreal)
-  Alex Thériault (Quebec)
-  jjjo-L, duo with Joëlle St-Pierre (Montreal) and Louis Dugal (Montreal)

As for the Authors and Composers, the panels of these categories have lyricist retained:

-  Mélanie Nöel (Sherbrooke)
-  Catherine Lalonde (Montreal)

and composers :

-  Louis-Guillaume Beaulac (Nicolet)
-  Bobby Cotton (Gaspé)

These lucky enjoy a week of training in the presence of artists who will accompany loadmasters in their quest. Marie-Claire Séguin, Edgar Bori and Pierre Flynn will return while Michel Faubert will appear on the team this year.

The program of 2009 Festival en Chanson of Petite-Vallée

As every year, the Festival en Chanson of Petite-Vallée bring together artists of the future with more experienced artists. Thus, between 26 June and 4 July 2009, the public will have the chance to parade in front of her and especially in his ears.

Children will not be left still with Skarazula and the choir of the Little School of the song.

Selected participants will unveil their world at special evenings while participants of the 2008 edition will be back for an evening dedicated to them. Obviously, Paul Piché offers to the public his show, but will also be celebrated in songs by an array of artists. In addition, twelve artists from the francophone Canadian living residences with artistic creation Sylvie Paquette, Marc Chabot, Andréanne Alain and Marc Pérusse, and will present their work at the show Les Rencontres qui chantent (Encounters singing). The very last evening of the event will be dedicated to the conductor Jean-Sebastien Fournier Tibasse said that this year celebrates its 25 years of service to the Festival.

This year, the animation of 2009 Festival en Chanson of Petite-Vallée was entrusted to Manuel Tadros for le Bal des chansonneurs (Ball singers), Monique Giroux and Pierre Verville for les Rendez-vous des chansonneurs as well as for the show Tribute to Paul Piché and that last la Fête à Tibasse (Day to Tibasse).
