Who is Francomix?
Francomix (« francophone » + « mix ») is the name of different music projects for the promotion of worldwide French-speaking music. Founded by Olivier Marteau and Philippe Bessière, the first name was originally « La vie en rose » (referring to the famous Edith Piaf song) before it became « Francomix » in 2000. The name is the result of two ideas: “franco” coming from « francophonie » (French-speaking world) and “mix” related to its diversity.

The site is managed by the LNBa association. Completely independent, Francomix is entirely free for the Net surfers. To pay its operating expenses, Francomix offers you to buy the CD mentioned in its pages via our FNAC.com partner.

What is francophonie?
What is francophonie? There are several definitions of the francophonie (geographical, linguistic). It is the linguistic definition which was here privileged; i.e. the communities which have French as first, second or third language.
