Ricochet is composed of two guys on guitar, a girl on saxophone, percussion and three voices from Quebec. Each one adds something special through arrangements, compositions and interpretation. The result is a harmonious blend of folk, jazz and pop sounds. The musicians strive to create music and lyrics that are sensitive, critical and relevant, because they believe that anything that’s true can be used to make a good song! Guillaume Michaud and Simon Paquet, both guitarists from the Gaspé Peninsula, met during their college years. Their musical friendship began with a group started by Guillaume called “Les Évités”. Veronique Lepage studied tenor saxophone for five years and for three years sang lead alto with the group “Chavigny Pop”. Thanks to this experience, she got a role in the musical comedy “Ti-Ben ”, created by her teacher. A founding member of the “West-East Band ”, she performed with Guillaume Michaud at the Saint Jean Baptist Day evening celebrations organised by Le Centre at the 2006 Summer Festival. That time the three friends spent in British Columbia gave birth to a new project: Ricochet. Friday, January 26 Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver website |
