Wintermitts is an original Vancouverite band composed of Lise Monique, David Thomas, Shane McMillan, Christian Chaumont and Swann Barrat. The name Wintermitts, taken from a Julie Doiron song, is just right for the start of B.C.’s wet winter season! The band will close the fall 2007 Nouvelle-scène concerts series with a performance at the cosy Studio 16. Wintermitts will present their second album called "Cascadia Fault", recorded in Vancouver last winter. This bilingual album is available at Red Cat or Zulu Records.

The band’s French songs have a bohemian, poetic, almost melancholic feel, with a touch of accordion (much like reminiscent of Yann Tiersen’s "Amélie" compositions). Their English repertoire is more in the "folk" music tradition and Rock.
